- If you don’t make a lot of international calls then you can use the iPhone or Blackberry for now (more smartphones support in the future) and download the free Vonage app to call overseas and pay as you go per minute. The rate per minute is still lower than Skype.

- Depending on the countries, sometimes the call rate to cell phone is higher than to landline because of those countries regulations. Skype charges higher to cell phones in those countries as well.

- Vonage is phone (landline or cell) to phone and not PC to phone like Skype which is very inconvenient.

- Vonage phone calls are of much higher quality like a landline unlike Skype that has noise on the line and you cannot talk more than 1/2 hour before your call gets dropped and you have to call again.

- In the near future, Vonage app will be able to accept calls as well without burning any call minutes while talking.
