The World of Warcraft Cooking Guide
In the World of Warcraft, Cooking is a great skill to learn, and while it is not utterly needed, it could match well with many other professions, like fishing. Actually, you could earn substantial amounts of gold with cooking skills and you won't have to put so much effort, making it enjoyable for many players to try out. If you want to change the way you play, this skill is very much worth your time.
It was only after the Burning Crusade that a lot more opportunities have opened up, and people became interested in giving this profession a try. This may be another way to earn extra gold because you will be able to make some things that other players may need, and thus, have fun in the process
How to get started
Once you opt to try cooking, you'll have to have fire. This skill also requires the following: Flint and Tinder and also Simple Wood. These things are definitely quite easy to locate, thus you need not work much too hard to have them. Upon gathering all these items, you will have to open up your Spellbook. Every players are is able to create Basic Campfire, so at this juncture, you don't have to worry about additional training.
Your cookbook could also be found in your Spellbook. You can open it up to refer to recipes you want to try. Do keep in mind that your fire would only be for a few minutes. As you have to purchase wood, it would be a great idea to only start fire when you are about to cook. Just click on the right ingredients required for each recipe and you would be cooking in a breeze.
You may also observe that the recipes need some other items in order for them to be completed. For example, look at this recipe for Crocolisk Steak. You will need to shop for one Crocolisk Meat and a set of Mild Spices. These are available from a vendor, or you could just go out to buy your own.
Once you have completed your apprenticeship, you'll be ready to move forward. Items that you do not have can be purchased from a cooking trainer, so you may need to spend a little to make a little at first. However, once you advance and go through more quests, you'll have easy access to the items that you need for your recipes.
Advancing
Since you won't have everything you need to make more advanced recipes as you start out, let me show you a faster way to progress from level 1-375 without making too much effort. You will have to begin at Ironforge wherein you can purchase flour and one set of mild spices in order to make Spiced Bread, your first recipe. It is very easy and can easily help you advance to level 40. After which, you have to get 30 more mild spices and more wood. Once you have done that, go to Auberdine and find a Moonkin to kill. Continue to kill it until you have around 20 eggs or more. It's a simple technique to easily get you to level 60.
From here, go down to Ashenvale and find the Crawlers. They will be dropping clams as they go and you will have to collect as many as you can. Once you have collected enough, return to Ironforge. Cook the eggs you recently collected from Moonkin and sell them. You should then go out and find a cooking trainer to train you how to cook the clams you just picked up earlier. By that time, your skill level should have already reached about 130. Go and get the expert cookbook and trust that you will be on your way to level 375 in no time at all.
