Many years ago when it came to buying a computer there was not really an option but to buy a desktop computer. Laptops were just far too expensive to buy. Today however it seems that laptops are far outselling desktop computers. Now it is a question of which do you choose when you want a computer?
Well with that in mind I have written this article to maybe shed some light on which is the best option from these two computers.
Desktop computers may sometimes look big and bulky items but they are still a lot cheaper than a laptop or notebook and can still out perform many of these laptops. Desktops are also much cheaper than most laptops too. You can find many desktop computers for less than $500 whereas the laptops usually cost more than this.
Computers are good for storing many things on such as your personal information. But if you do this then it is far safer to have a desktop than a laptop.
The reason for that is the laptop is a lot lighter and could be easier to steal than a large bulky desktop computer. So if you ever get burgled then there is less of a likelihood of thieves stealing your bulky desktop than stealing a lightweight laptop.
In the same way it is very rare to hear of anybody dropping their desktop computer and damaging it in the process. This unfortunately cannot be said about the lightweight laptops.
Another drawback with the laptop computers is that because of their size they often overheat when used continuously. The common desktop computer hardly ever does this and if it does then you must have been on it for a very long time.
Finally if you do purchase a computer of any kind please make sure that you buy it from a safe source such as a computer dealership. If you feel confident on your computer knowledge then you could try to build one yourself.
